Job summary

Baxter & Woodman seeks a Municipal Services Project Manager to lead civil engineering efforts for local municipal clients across Northeastern Illinois. You will review development plans, coordinate with village officials, and ensure compliance with stormwater, water/sewer, and transportation standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage capital projects, and assist in grant funding activities while coordinating with multiple agencies and departments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience working for municipal governments or on development projects requiring municipal permits.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical municipal staff, officials and residents.
• Ability to travel throughout Northeastern Illinois (own transportation).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and review engineering submittals with municipal staff and B&W colleagues.
• Respond to inquiries from Village Staff and Officials, developers, designers and property owners.
• Review development plans for compliance with local requirements (stormwater, grading, sewers, water, transportation).
• Coordinate work with other municipal/County departments and B&W staff.
• Prepare and submit permits for local municipal projects.
• Provide on-site construction inspection services where required.
• Prepare written development review reports for Village Staff, developers and designers.
