Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Municipal Services Project Manager to lead a variety of municipal projects across Northeastern Illinois. You will review submittals, advise staff and elected officials, and coordinate multi-department efforts to ensure compliant development and funding outcomes.

The role requires civil engineering expertise, 4+ years with municipal work, and an Illinois PE license or the ability to obtain within 12 months. Strong communication and travel ability are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Illinois Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain one within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and review engineering submittals for municipal projects.
• Respond to inquiries from Village Staff and Officials, developers, designers and property owners.
• Review development plans for compliance with local requirements (Stormwater, grading, sewers, water lines, transportation).
• Coordinate work with other municipal/County departments and Baxter & Woodman staff.
• Prepare written development review reports and communicate with staff, developers and designers.
• Assist with inter-governmental agreements and preparation of municipal budgets.
• Prepare/submit permits for local municipal projects.
• Provide on-site construction inspection for development and municipal projects.
