Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in the Twin Cities Metro area invites applications for a 2027 summer Civil Engineer Intern on our Municipal team.

You will gain practical on-the-job experience supporting municipalities and participate mainly in construction phase activities. We seek students enrolled in Civil Engineering with a GPA around 2.8 or higher, who can work outdoors, hold a valid driver’s license, and enjoy collaborating with a professional team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program at an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Minimum GPA 2.8; Desired GPA 3.2 or above.
• Sophomore or above with coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation duties.
• Valid driver's license and transportation; travel may be reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Assist on civil engineering projects with tasks involving planning and design.
• Assist with preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist with construction observation, staking, and administration duties.
• May work on reports, design calculations, writing specifications, and reviewing shop drawings.
