Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is offering a Civil Engineer Intern position for the 2027 summer internship season on our Municipal team in the Twin Cities Metro area. Work with a talented team and gain hands-on experience serving communities.

You will assist with civil engineering projects, reports, plans, cost estimates, construction observation and drafting. Strong academic progress in Civil Engineering and familiarity with AutoCAD are preferred; relocation not provided.

Qualifications

Selected candidates will be enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program or closely related program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Minimum GPA of 2.8; Desired GPA 3.2 or above.
Current status: Sophomore or above with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
Candidates must be able to work outdoors in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation duties.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and transportation or access to public transport; business-related travel reimbursed.

Responsibilities

Assist on civil engineering projects with tasks involving civil engineering, planning and design.
Assist with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Assist with construction observation, staking, and construction administration duties.
Some opportunities may include writing specifications, design calculations, and reviewing shop drawings.
