Job summary

GameStop in Fargo, ND seeks a Store Manager to lead store operations and drive sales while delivering outstanding guest service. You will supervise a retail team, oversee onboarding, scheduling, payroll, and loss prevention, and ensure the store meets company standards for appearance and inventory control.

You will mentor associates, promote loyalty programs, and coordinate with the District Manager to implement initiatives across the store.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail management experience required.
• At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a store team and manage in a multiunit capacity.
• Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, address questions, and promote promotions.
• Support store environment, visual/operational elements, and guest relationships to drive sales.
• Process purchases/returns accurately using POS and provide top guest service.
• Respond to guest questions in person or by phone with courtesy and professionalism.
• Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (Reservations, trade-ins, Pro Rewards).
• Recruit, interview, hire, develop, and retain associates.
• Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance before opening/closing shifts.
• Communicate with District Manager to implement store initiatives and train staff.
• Schedule staff per guidelines; manage breaks and meals.
• Approve payroll and manage time off and time edits.
• Provide recognition and feedback in HR systems.
• Maintain clean, organized store and proper merchandising.
• Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
• Conduct inventory, stock, and replenishment; secure assets and loss prevention.
• Lead team to meet sales, profit, and shrink goals; perform administrative duties.
• Balance daily transactions; prepare closeout paperwork and bank deposits.
