Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to support staff and physicians by arranging follow-up appointments and necessary tests. The role includes direct patient interaction across ages and coordinating with multiple clinics.

Responsibilities include obtaining pre-certifications, scheduling procedures such as interventional studies, and communicating clear instructions to patients via calls and letters. Proficiency with Allscripts and Centricity is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/Equivalent (required).
• Two years of scheduling in a multi-specialty clinic (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow up visits and returns for patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Schedule medical tests and procedures and relay instructions to patients.
• Call patients to schedule procedures and provide follow-up letters.
• Use Allscripts, Centricity Business and paging systems; access other hospital data.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality in all patient matters.
