Job summary

Lakeshore Management is seeking an Experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee a team across multiple communities. The role focuses on complex repairs, preventative maintenance, and coordinating with vendors to ensure safety and quality across buildings.

You will oversee work orders, inspections, and after-hours emergencies, reporting to the Regional Manager. A high school diploma, several years in maintenance, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic carpentry skills.
• Leadership Abilities: Proven experience supervising and motivating a team of maintenance technicians.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex maintenance issues and develop effective solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication to interact with residents, staff, vendors, and property managers regarding maintenance requests and updates.
• Physical Ability: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
• Several years of experience as a maintenance technician in a property management setting
• Prior experience leading or supervising a maintenance team is preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• GED or High School diploma or equivalent
• Bilingual preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Lead and train a team of maintenance technicians, including assigning tasks, training new staff, and evaluating performance.
• Receive, prioritize, and assign maintenance work orders, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
• Perform complex repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance systems.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for building systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for large-scale repairs or projects.
• Regularly inspect property units, common areas, and exterior grounds for maintenance needs and safety compliance.
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Assist the property manager in budgeting for maintenance and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Adhere to safety regulations and procedures while performing tasks.
• Other responsibilities deemed necessary by supervisor.
