Job summary

Verkada is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to craft scalable, on-demand enablement content for the Solutions Engineering team. You will translate complex product concepts into engaging multimedia assets and lead the instructional design lifecycle.

You will partner with technical content peers to align assets with LMS taxonomy and analytics. This on-site role is based in San Mateo, CA, reporting to the Director of Solutions Engineering Enablement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Multimedia Production, or Technical Training Creation.
• Advanced proficiency with modern e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia editing suites (Camtasia, Premiere, Audition).
• Proven track record collaborating with technical content developers, SMEs, and platform managers to deliver scalable education pipelines.
• Demonstrated capability building interactive software/hardware simulations and evaluation rubrics.
• Foundational technical literacy in cloud networking, IoT enterprise infrastructure, and physical security concepts.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to translate engineering data into engaging narratives.

Responsibilities

• Transform complex technical specifications into on-demand learning assets such as podcasts and short-form videos.
• Collaborate with the Technical Content Architect and Delivery Manager to align with LMS taxonomy and discoverability.
• Design learning paths using ADDIE or SAM for onboarding, continuous education, and just-in-time field assets.
• Establish analytics to track consumption, completion, and effectiveness; iterate based on feedback.
• Deconstruct guides into modular micro-learning components for busy field engineers.
• Maintain a structured asset catalog and synchronize media with rapid product releases.
