Job summary

Mercor is seeking certified medical coders to review, annotate, and evaluate clinical documentation and AI-generated notes. This remote, part-time role requires active certification (CCDS, CHC, CCS, or CPC), ICD-10 experience, and US-based practice.

You’ll work in a multilingual cohort, contributing to standards and providing actionable feedback to product teams. Ideal candidates speak English plus at least one other language at advanced level (C1+).

Qualifications

• Active certification (CCDS, CHC, CCS, or CPC) is required.
• ICD-10 coding experience is required.
• Currently working in medical coding or related documentation roles.
• US-based employment is required.
• Advanced proficiency (C1+) in another language besides English is required.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation for accuracy and coding integrity.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against real-world documentation and standards.
• Validate alignment between documentation and assigned codes.
• Annotate documentation per guidelines and flag omissions or inaccuracies.
• Provide structured feedback for engineering/product teams to act on.
• Contribute to annotation guideline development and refine standards.
