Job summary

Achievement First Charter School Network seeks an MLL Teacher-Coordinator to plan and provide English Language Development instruction for students identified for ELD support. You will manage language screening and proficiency assessments, and collaborate with teachers to accelerate language and academic content learning.

You will maintain records, support the MLL Director, and model assets-based approaches to multilingualism across the school.

Qualifications

• Two years of teaching experience preferred with a proven record of high student achievement.
• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0; Master’s degree preferred.
• New York certified in TESOL or Bilingual Education or in process of obtaining a certification.
• Ability to implement EL development strategies and manage assessments.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides English Language Development instruction for identified students.
• Manages annual language proficiency assessments and language screener.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers to accelerate language and academic content learning.
• Maintains updated records and complies with district procedures.
• Supports MLL Director and serves as a resource on multilingual education.
