Job summary

Harbor Group Management Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a Multifamily property in Greensboro, NC. You will maintain the property’s buildings, grounds, and amenities, handle resident service requests, and support safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include technical maintenance, vendor inspections, and preparing units for new residents, with on-call availability and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair.
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal for refrigerant handling.
• Multifamily maintenance experience highly desired.
• Available for emergency on-call, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license required (golf cart operation if applicable).
• Customer-service oriented with ability to interact professionally with residents.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Any other certifications as required by local and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and repairs.
• Respond to resident requests using a work order system.
• Conduct preventative maintenance for safe operation of the property.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, schedule contractors and perform needed repairs.
• Maintain breezeways, pool areas and common spaces; regular cleaning and basic fixes.
• Manage maintenance tools; track inventory and notify reorder needs.
• Repair rather than replace to control costs.
• Attend safety meetings and OSHA training; report incidents.
• Inspect contractor work for quality and scope compliance.
• Assist in property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
