Job summary

Carter Lumber General Manager oversees the operation management of multiple stores in a single market, following the direction set by the Market Manager or Market VP in the areas of foundation, inventory, sales and profit. Effective communication with the field, internal departments and external vendors is mandatory for the success of this position.

Responsibilities include store operations, staff management, training and growth, with emphasis on leading teams, expanding contractor

Qualifications

• Previous retail management experience, preferably in building materials.
• Proven track record in sales management, primarily dealing with contractors.
• Ability to direct and train others effectively as a team leader.

Responsibilities

• Manages and implements the overall direction of multiple stores in a market, delegating and overseeing inventory and sales management, safety requirements and policies.
• Directs and motivates staff, ensures goals are met, and keeps sales teams updated on product trends.
• Identifies personal growth needs, completes required training, and oversees employee career development.
