Carter Lumber seeks a General Manager to oversee multiple stores in a market, directing inventory, sales, safety, and profitability. You will communicate goals to the team and visit job sites to ensure execution.

Ideal candidates have retail management experience in building materials, strong leadership, and proven ability to grow sales with contractors, while traveling to various sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in retail management, ideally building materials.
• Experience overseeing installed/outside sales programs.
• Proven sales leadership with contractors.
• Strong team leadership, training, and supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.

Responsibilities

• Direct store operations across multiple sites in a market.
• Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate staff.
• Grow outside and installed sales, manage key accounts.
• Develop product knowledge, trends, and process improvement.
