Job summary

InProduction, Inc. is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to administer payroll and benefits for 500+ employees across multiple states. You will ensure accurate hours, on-time pay, and compliance with payroll tax reporting and benefits administration.

Responsibilities include benefits enrollments, COBRA, 401(k) administration, and payroll data maintenance. The role requires 3–5 years of payroll/HRIS experience, Paychex familiarity, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 3-5 years experience administering payroll, HRIS and benefits processes.
• Experience with multi-state payroll practices and benefits administration.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and deadline orientation.
• Experience with Paychex or similar payroll applications preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and judgment skills.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for 500+ employees in a multi-state environment.
• Administer employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations for medical, 401k, and other benefits.
• Maintain payroll records in relevant systems and ensure accurate GL coding.
• Audit time sheets, payroll registers, and related reports for accuracy.
• Prepare and distribute payroll and benefits reports as directed.
• Reconcile payroll items to source documents prior to processing; ensure compliance with tax rules.
• Process new hires, terminations, and changes; handle COBRA enrollments/changes.
• Provide prompt, friendly customer service to employees on pay, deductions, or payroll processes.
