Job summary

Opti Staffing Group is assisting a family-owned commercial flooring contractor in Oregon with a payroll/HR support role. You will manage multi-state payroll across OR, WA, and CA, ensure timely processing, and maintain compliance with prevailing wage rules.

Responsibilities include timekeeping audits, reporting, payroll tax filings, and employee inquiries. This is an on-site, full-time position working closely with HR and leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience.
• Experience in a deadline-driven payroll environment.
• Experience using an ERP or payroll system.
• Strong Excel skills with lookups and pivot tables.
• Outlook and Adobe Acrobat proficiency; accurate data entry (10-key).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify payroll discrepancies.
• Clear written and verbal communication; capable of working independently.
• Ability to interact with employees regarding time worked and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, monthly, and off-cycle payroll for field and office employees across multiple states.
• Import and audit timekeeping data, verify job codes, classifications, and hours.
• Prepare weekly certified payroll reports for public works projects.
• Complete WH-347 reporting and file certified payroll via LCPtracker and other systems.
• Handle certified payroll reporting through Oregon BOLI, Washington L&I, and California DIR.
• Apply prevailing wage rates, classifications, fringe benefits, and differentials.
• Reconcile payroll against GL and job costs; research discrepancies.
• Assist with multi-state payroll taxes and deposits; maintain payroll records.
• Support payroll tax audits and document control; onboarding and I-9 tasks.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and maintain confidentiality.
