Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state payroll processing and ensure compliance across California, Washington, and other states. The role collaborates with HR and Finance to maintain accurate payroll and data integrity.

You will handle biweekly processing, respond to employee inquiries, and support year-end reporting and audits. Prior experience with Paycom and a healthcare or correctional setting is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in the specified functional area.
• 3+ years of experience processing complex multi-state payroll, including CA and WA.
• Experience with Paycom HRIS preferred.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate may be required if role is located in a correctional facility.
• Healthcare/correctional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Biweekly Payroll Processing: process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Employee Pay Guidance: assist employees and managers with pay-related questions.
• Payroll Issue Resolution: investigate and correct discrepancies in pay and deductions.
• Quarterly and Year-End Reporting: prepare required payroll reports with HR and Finance.
• HRIS Administration: maintain payroll data in Paycom and ensure data integrity.
• Payroll Auditing & Compliance: conduct audits and verify tax withholdings and accruals.
• Cross-Departmental Backup: support Accounts Payable/Receivable and related entries.
