Job summary

Desert View Hospital in a rural Nevada community is seeking a Lab Manager to lead the direction, coordination, and oversight of all general laboratory sections across multiple sites. You will supervise technical and phlebotomy staff, ensure quality control, regulatory readiness, and collaborate with medical staff and administration to maintain efficient, cost-conscious lab operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with NV Board certification and has 3 years of leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field with Board certification recognized by the State of NV.
• Three years laboratory leadership experience in acute care hospital. Experience working with medical staff, administration, and nursing departments. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of regulatory agencies, project management, staffing/scheduling inventory management, and accreditation of laboratory operations.
• State of Nevada General Supervisor
• Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office and Cerner LIS. Previous Cerner Millennium training preferred
• Managed care, utilization and standing order experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and oversee all general laboratory sections across locations including specimen collection, hematology, coagulation, Blood Bank, chemistry, and other lab areas.
• Monitor test reporting, quality control, quality assurance, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Staffing, training, and oversight of all technical and phlebotomy personnel; manage vendor relations and inventory.
• Ensure lab services follow best practices with focus on quality, efficiency, and cost containment; maintain CAP/state inspection readiness.
