Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within 18 Months of employment.
• One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements per CLIA.
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests per CLIA with quality control.
• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient results.
• Maintain instruments and equipment daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
• Identify age-specific differences in results from newborns to geriatrics.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.
• Lead in absence of a supervisor or assume lead responsibilities as needed.
