Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled welder capable of certifying on multi-process pipe welding, proficient in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW. The role involves laying out, aligning and welding fabricated components to assemble complex structures such as piping systems, tanks and furnace shells according to blueprints and metallurgy.

Candidates should be able to read technical drawings and perform welding in multiple positions, with potential x-ray qualification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, metal properties, weld shrinkage and techniques.
• May use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components in various body positions.
• Welds together metal components of piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes, in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
