Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced welder capable of certifying on multi-process pipe welding, including SMAW, GTAW and GMAW, and possibly x-ray qualified. The role involves laying out, aligning and welding fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels and piping systems, per blueprints.

Responsibilities include selecting pipe types, planning layouts, using correct welding techniques, and ensuring weld quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of welding processes and metallurgy is expected.
• Must pass pre-employment background and physical.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, aligns and welds fabricated, cast and forged components according to blueprints and metallurgy.
• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly and welding using knowledge of geometry and material properties.
• Welds components in various positions and checks for bead size and weld quality.
• Operates welding equipment and prepares joints, cleans welds and surfaces as needed.
