Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a skilled welder capable of certifying on multi-process pipe, proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW. Responsibilities include laying out, aligning, and welding components per blueprints and metallurgy, with potential x-ray qualifications.

You will select materials, plan layouts, and weld using various processes, ensuring quality and safety. The role requires strong accuracy and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of welding concepts.
• Ability to work within precise limits and follow established procedures.
• Must be able to plan work and select proper tools; apply basic mathematics.
• Able to visualize 3D components from plans/drawings; work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding using geometry and metal properties.
• May use multiple welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW) as required.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components for welding.
• Welds and bolts components, possibly in various positions; tacks assemblies as needed.
• Operates welding equipment to meet procedure specifications and safety rules.
• Performs equipment setup, electrode loading, and arc initiation.
• Inspects welds for bead size and conformance; cleans and maintains work area.
