Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled welder proficient in multi-process welding to lay out, align, and weld various components per blueprints and metallurgy. The role involves working with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and other processes across positions while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, planning layouts, and operating welding equipment, with emphasis on precision, measurement, and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or as stated in job description.
• Experience reading blueprints and understanding metallurgy concepts.
• Ability to work with multiple welding processes and maintain quality.
• Adherence to safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or other related materials and equipment according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal, welding techniques.
• May use SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions.
• Welds components using arc welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Connects cables and adjusts amperage/voltage as specified by procedure.
• Starts power supply and strikes arc to deposit metal.
• Guides electrode along weld-line to achieve desired fusion and bead.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials and supplies; assists installation and maintenance.
