Job summary

Jackson Hewitt in Kansas is seeking an Office Manager to supervise daily operations for multiple tax offices in the district. You’ll lead seasonal staff, monitor productivity, ensure tax preparation quality, and support local marketing efforts to drive revenue and profitability.

Under general supervision, you’ll safeguard confidential client data, coordinate schedules, partner with HR on staff relations, and uphold company standards for facilities, technology, and service delivery during busy

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Coursework in management, tax preparation, or accounting (preferred).
• Proficiency with email, web browsers, Microsoft Word and Excel, and accounting or tax software.
• Tax preparation experience and an active PTIN (preferred).
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of seasonal staff for your assigned offices, including managing applicant leads from internal and external sources
• Monitor team performance to ensure quality standards, deadlines, and procedures are met, and correct errors when they occur
• Review and approve work schedules and timecards, and track staff time during shifts
• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations issues, complaints, and training
• Ensure each office meets company standards for setup, technology, telecommunications, supplies, and facilities maintenance, including seasonal opening and closing
• Maintain positive relationships with property managers and landlords
• Guide employees through complex issues and resolve escalated client concerns
• Review operational and productivity reports, including return processing status, discounts, and cash handling
• Meet office goals for revenue, cash control, and number of tax returns completed
