Job summary

• Understanding of overall hospital revenue cycle functions.

Responsibilities

• Educates assigned clinical departments on Patient Access operations and provides guidance to staff on procedures.
• Develops and implements procedures to optimize revenue generation and ensures staff training.
• Manages projects and leads task forces, process improvement plans, and department meetings.
• Supervises patient access related activities including registration and point of service collections.
• Recruits, hires, orients, evaluates and disciplines staff per policies; coordinates with trainers across departments.
• Performs analyses, audits, and reporting to improve revenue and operational efficiency.
• Ensures quality registrations and minimizes denials in collaboration with QA teams.
• Contributes to department budget planning and monitors goals and productivity metrics.
• Acts as liaison between Patient Access and clinical departments and represents UNC Health Care in meetings.
