Job summary

The Social Worker (MSW) PRN at HCA Florida JFK Hospital provides non-clinical biopsychosocial assessments and interventions across inpatient floors and the ED, offering crisis intervention, patient/family support, and referrals for resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
• Current licensure or social work status as required
• Experience in inpatient or ED social work preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RN case managers, nurses, physicians, insurers and staff to identify and address patient needs.
• Identify and address barriers to discharge and recovery across financial, emotional, psychosocial, medical and spiritual domains.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and private payer regulations and managed-care concepts.
• Perform thorough assessments and develop discharge plans for high-risk patients with psychosocial needs.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings between the care team and patients/families/caregivers; support patient preferences and values.
• Provide emotional support and crisis interventions for end-of-life, terminal illness and stressful situations.
