Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• New York State licensure as Radiologic Technologist is required.
• ARRT Registered Technologist (RT(R)) is required.
• ARRT MR certification (RT(R)(MR)) is required or obtained within 18 months of entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for examination. Explains procedure and ensures consent when necessary.
• Performs MRI procedures including abdominal, brain, extremities; positions patient and operates MRI to obtain required images.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes to radiologist; assists in image transfer to PACS and archiving.
• Performs minor equipment checks and calibration; troubleshoots issues and reports major problems.
• Assists in patient flow and scheduling; ensures premedication when applicable; completes exams.
• Performs related duties as required. ADA Essential Functions.
