Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, and ensure accurate data for physician diagnosis. You will assist in patient flow, data reconstruction, and sending images to PACS.

The role requires NY licensure as a Radiologic Technologist with IV contrast administration certification, ARRT registration, and BLS. Prior radiology experience, especially MRI, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, required.
• New York State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist with certification in IV contrast administration, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
• MR Imaging (MR) credential/registration (ARRT MR) required within 18 months of entry date.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Prior radiology experience, required; MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI procedures including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, and planning for various procedures.
• Screen patients prior to procedures and ensure no metal objects accompany patient into the procedure room.
• Verify IV contrast eligibility by reviewing creatinine and calculating GFR; prepare contrast materials.
• Explain procedures and set up equipment for timely examinations; obtain consent for IV contrast.
• Transmit cases to on-call Radiologist via Tele-Radiology; ensure proper image quality and patient safety.
• Administer IV and oral contrast per Radiologist orders; calculate dose based on weight and monitor for reactions.
• Perform venipuncture and manage IV lines; document information in requisitions and IV Contrast Information Sheet.
