Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a qualified MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, prepare patients and obtain necessary information for diagnosis. You will assist in patient flow, data reconstruction and sending images to PACS for physician review.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, NYS licensure for Radiologic Technologist with IV contrast certification, ARRT registration, BLS certification and prior MRI experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State licensure as Radiologic Technologist with IV contrast certification.
• ARRT registration and MR(RRT) certification within 18 months.
• BLS/BCLS certification and prior radiology experience, MRI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.
• Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room.
• Calculates GFR to determine IV contrast eligibility and dosage.
• Operates MRI to perform abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams and others.
• Transmits cases to Radiologist via Tele-Radiology system.
• Explains IV contrast administration and obtains consent.
