Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiology or completed accredited radiology program.
• State RT License for ARRT candidates through the NJDEP, or MR Certification through ARMRIT.
• BLS certification through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil close to area of interest as requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone allowing patient-technologist communication during examination.
• Enters data such as patient history, anatomical area, orientation, and entry position into the system.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters/receivers in the computer.
• Monitors patient safety and comfort through the control room and video display.
• Reviews images on the display to ensure picture quality.
• Inputs data on the imaging workstation to capture images.
• Alerts staff to magnet safety risks related to metal in the magnet area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Associate's degree in Radiology
