Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ seeks an MRI technologist responsible for creating cross-sectional images of patients' bodies using magnetic resonance imaging equipment and following radiologist protocols.

You will position patients, select coils, operate the MRI system, monitor patient safety, enter exam data, and ensure image quality while communicating clearly with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Radiography Program or related field.
• State RT License / MR Certified / BLS.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil (receiver) such as head coil or knee coil, close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
• Enters data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment (head or feet first), into computer.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
• Observes patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV screen to monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Views images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
• Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
• Alerts staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
