Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ is seeking an MRI technologist to perform cross-sectional imaging using magnetic resonance equipment, following radiologist-directed protocols. You will ensure patient safety, monitor comfort, and accurately document patient data during scans.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Radiography or a related field, and licensure/certifications such as RT, MR, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Radiography Program or related field.
• State RT License / MR Certified / BLS.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil (receiver) such as head coil or knee coil, close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
• Enters data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment (head or feet first), into computer.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
• Observes patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV screen to monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Views images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
• Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
• Alerts staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
