Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking an MRI Technologist to create cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes using MRI equipment. You will position patients, operate coils, and ensure image quality while maintaining safety protocols.

The role requires a Radiography degree and state licensing, with MR certification and BLS preferred. Based in Morristown, NJ, you will join a leading nonprofit health system renowned for patient care and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Radiography Program or related field.
• State RT License / MR Certified / BLS.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
• Enters data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of MRI equipment into computer.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
• Observes patient through control room window and monitors safety and comfort.
• Views images of areas being scanned on display to ensure quality of pictures.
• Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
• Alerts staff to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
