Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking an MRI technologist to perform cross‑sectional imaging using MRI equipment at its Morristown, NJ locations. Responsibilities include positioning patients, selecting coils, operating the MRI system, and capturing diagnostic images with attention to safety.

The role requires an associate degree in Radiology or equivalent, NJ ARRT licensure or MR certification, and BLS. This full‑time position offers comprehensive benefits within a major health network.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiology and/or a graduate of an accredited radiology program required.
• State License for ARRT candidates through the NJDEP, or MR Certified through ARMRIT.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil (receiver) such as head coil or knee coil, close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
• Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
• Enters data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment (head or feet first), into computer.
• Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
• Observes patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV screen to monitor patient safety and comfort.
• Views images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
• Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
• Alerts staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
