Job summary

Ascension is seeking an imaging professional to deliver high-quality diagnostic images and ensure patient safety in cross-sectional imaging. You will position patients, perform pre-screening, and transfer images to PACS for physician review.

Qualifications include BLS and radiologic/sonography credentials as outlined in the minimum requirements, with strong attention to safety, data integrity, and equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality diagnostic images by operating scanning equipment and selecting precise technical parameters to visualize pathologies.
  • Position patients for cross-sectional imaging to optimize safety and comfort and conduct pre-screening and education for every exam.
  • Enter patient history accurately and transfer images to PACS to ensure complete records for physician review.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant imaging environment by following radiation safety guidelines and keeping the department orderly.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
