Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in MRI for a PRN role in Destin, FL at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast. The team performs MRI procedures, manages image data, and ensures high-quality results with correct patient data and markers.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT MRI credential with ARRT Radiography credential and is BLS certified. Prior MRI experience is preferred, with a focus on patient prep, imaging accuracy, and maintaining the imaging suite.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date required.
• ARRT Radiography credentialed before hire date.
• ARRT MRI credentialed before hire date.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years experience or Associate's/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients and select anatomical/technical parameters to produce cross-sectional images.
• Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images to PACS and develop film in an automatic processor.
• Ensure high-quality images and correct markers and patient data/history are submitted to PACS.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean, orderly department including rooms and storage areas.

Education

High School diploma equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

Your future role at a glance

• Location: Destin, FL

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepare and position patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to producecross-sectional images of the body. Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.

• Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develop film in an automatic processor.

• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).

• Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.

• Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences:

• One year of experience as an MRI Tech
