Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-resolution diagnostic scans, position patients, and set precise imaging parameters for accurate cross-sectional images.

You will manage diagnostic data from entry to PACS transmission, monitor equipment health, and uphold rigorous safety standards to ensure continuous patient care. This PRN rotating role sits in the Imaging | MRI department.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire or transfer date (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
• Credentialed Cardiographic Tech (CCI) or NMTCB or ARRT or ARDMS or ARMRIT prior to hire date or transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-resolution diagnostic scans by positioning patients and selecting precise parameters.
• Educate patients and complete pre-screening to ensure they feel informed and safe.
• Manage the full lifecycle of diagnostic data from entry to PACS transmission for immediate medical access.
• Monitor equipment health and uphold safety standards to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
