Wintrust Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to bring in new loan requests and guide applicants through program selection and documentation. You will work closely with borrowers from initial contact to closing, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with lending regulations.

The role emphasizes relationship building with realtors and builders to generate referrals, with an emphasis on knowledge of pricing, underwriting, and government loan programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of mortgage loan origination experience.
• Knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage products.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations such as Truth-in-Lending and RESPA.
• Ability to analyze financial information.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Pleasant and professional demeanor; sound judgment and diplomacy.
• NMLS registration required under the SAFE Act; ability to travel.

Responsabilités

• Assembles and reviews a new application and matches the applicant with a mortgage program.
• File is handled by the Mortgage Originator until closing is scheduled; originate new business by turning in the file.
• Assists borrower in determining proper loan program and gathering required documentation.
• Conducts preliminary underwriting reviews.
• Remains front-line contact with borrowers throughout the process.
• Develops referral relationships with realtors, builders, bankers and others to solicit new business.
