Job summary

Wintrust Mortgage in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Loan Originator to drive new mortgage transactions. You will be the primary contact for loan applicants, assemble applications, and pair borrowers with suitable programs.

With at least two years in mortgage origination, you will analyze credit, navigate underwriting rules, and develop referral networks with realtors and builders. NMLS registration is required; travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of mortgage loan origination experience.
• Thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage products and programs.
• Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending, such as Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and reviews a new loan application and matches the applicant with a mortgage program.
• The file is handled by the Mortgage Originator until closing is scheduled.
• Develops referral relationships with realtors, builders, bankers, and other sources to solicit new business.
