Job summary

Wintrust Mortgage, part of Wintrust Financial Corporation, is seeking a Loan Originator Assistant to support the loan origination, processing, and closing processes. You will monitor files, ensure accuracy, and coordinate with internal and external customers to move mortgage applications forward.

You will reach out to referral sources, assist in marketing the loan officer's services, and help manage day-to-day transactions while maintaining knowledge of mortgage guidelines and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent multi-tasking, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
• Must be a self-starter, motivated, energetic with strong time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take direction.
• Updated knowledge of Fannie/Freddie guidelines.
• Working knowledge of computers including MS Word, Excel and Internet.
• 3–5 years mortgage banking experience or related experience in sales/marketing.
• Encompass experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the origination, processing, and closing of loans.
• Monitor the status of each file and ensure accurate and efficient processing through closing, including guideline research.
• Review files for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
• Work with internal and external customers.
• Reach out to referral sources on the Loan Officer's behalf.
• Assist in marketing the Loan Officer's services to new prospective referral partners using marketing materials.
• Manage day-to-day transactions and relationships with customers and vendors.
• Meet with potential borrowers to analyze financial situation and needs for purchase or refinance, gather necessary documentation for the loan process, etc.
• Provide necessary documentation to processing and underwriting departments to ensure timely loan closings.
• Must have working knowledge of mortgage loans and/or loan procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
