Job summary

Wintrust Mortgage is hiring a Loan Originator in Illinois to procure new mortgage transactions and act as the primary contact for loan applicants. You will assemble applications, match borrowers with programs, and guide them through the process from application to closing.

The role requires at least two years of origination experience, knowledge of FHA/VA and conventional loan products, and NMLS registration. A strong sales drive and client-relations skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of mortgage loan origination experience.
• Thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage products and programs.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of federal lending regulations (Truth-in-Lending, RESPA).
• Ability to analyze financial information and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and review new applications and match applicants with mortgage programs.
• Oversee file until closing is scheduled and handoff to processing.
• Develop new business by turning in files and generating referrals.
• Assist borrowers in selecting proper loan programs and gathering required docs.
• Conduct preliminary underwriting reviews and remain main contact with borrowers.
