Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Operations Associate to enhance the customer experience through store operations before opening. This early-morning role involves fast-paced movement, assisting customers, and ensuring merchandise readiness across floors.

You will handle pricing, restocking, unloading shipments, and supporting omnichannel initiatives while maintaining stockroom organization and learning new processes daily.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail experience.
• Ability to operate in early-morning shifts.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Ability to maneuver around the store quickly to assist customers.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service – maneuver around the store at a fast pace, providing assistance to customers.
• Execute pricing and signing – change ticket prices and sign merchandise across the store quickly and accurately.
• Replenish and restock the store – understand customer needs, assist sales floor peers and leaders by pulling and preparing merchandise to go to the floor to ensure all styles and sizes are available.
• Receive and unload merchandise – work with co‑workers to unload a truck and prepare merchandise in the backroom.
• Maintain backroom standards – keep the stockroom safe, clean, and organized.
• Support omnichannel operations – contribute to Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, Order Delivery and Returns, Shipping Online Orders, and Merchandise Receiving initiatives.
• Implement merchandise strategy – execute leadership plans for merchandise placement, maintaining merchandising standards to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Participate in a learning environment – absorb new information from peers or training materials on merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.
