Job summary

Pine Street Inn is seeking a Guest Service Specialist for the Shattuck Shelter, on-site 40 hours weekly. The role focuses on helping guests learn about and access emergency shelter, food, clothing, and housing services while maintaining a safe environment.

The position requires strong communication, front-desk experience, and the ability to work with individuals facing homelessness; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Salary ranges from $21.40 to $30.00 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in front-line customer service settings preferred
• Ability to work with diverse populations in a shelter environment
• Data entry into HMIS system and reporting per agency policy
• Must be able to work site-based shift and handle demanding situations

Responsibilities

• Assist guests, callers and visitors in learning about and accessing shelter services
• Motivate and guide guests toward housing pathways and connect to resources
• Support safety and security at the shelter and front desk
• Enter data into HMIS and document reports per policy
• Provide exceptional customer service even in challenging circumstances
