Job summary

Oak Hill in Glastonbury, CT is hiring a Direct Support Professional for the morning shift (part time). The role provides person-centered support in a residential setting for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 6am–10am.

You'll assist with daily living activities, health monitoring, medication administration under training, and community inclusion while promoting independence and dignity in a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to transport individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Ability to complete required training programs and maintain necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Daily Living Activities
• Assisting with personal care, grooming, bathing, dressing, and hygiene needs.
• Providing continence care as needed.
• Encouraging independence and skill development.
• Monitoring and documenting health-related information and vital signs when required.
• Administering medications and maintaining medication records.
• Transporting individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Preparing meals and providing mealtime support.
• Assisting with mobility and transfers using approved techniques.
• Documenting daily activities and medication administration in the EHR.
• Following health care plans and regulatory requirements.
• Responding to emergencies and applying first aid/CPR when required.
• Communicating with team and attending trainings.
