Job summary

Cart.com is hiring a Merchant of Record Accountant to own end-to-end MoR accounting operations across our brands. You will ensure accuracy of payments, settlements, tax compliance, and financial reporting while maintaining robust controls.

The ideal candidate brings 3–7 years in payments operations or e-commerce finance, with deep experience in reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close, plus expert Excel and SQL skills. This is a remote US-based role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–7 years in payments ops, merchant services, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, merchant accounts, and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel, SQL knowledge, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own MoR accounting operations across supported brands.
• Review and approve high-value transactions under thresholds.
• Monitor payment exceptions and resolve settlement issues.
• Maintain transaction-level review to minimize errors.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on tax and reporting.
