MoR Accounting Lead – Payments, Tax & Reconciliations

Job summary

Cart.com, a leading commerce enablement company, is seeking a meticulous MoR Accountant to own end-to-end MoR operations across brands. You will oversee payments processing, settlements, tax compliance, and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3–7 years in payments operations or related finance, strong Excel/SQL skills, and ERP experience (NetSuite/D365). Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in payments ops, merchant services, accounting or finance in ecommerce/SaaS/tech.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, merchant accounts, and controls.
• Hands-on reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support.
• Advanced Excel and large dataset analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of SQL and reporting/analytics tools.
• Experience with MoR models or MoR vendors is a plus.
• Experience with Stripe, Braintree, PayPal or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with tax automation systems like Avalara/TaxJar.
• ERP experience (NetSuite, D365 BC) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Own MoR accounting operations end-to-end across brands.
• Review and approve high-value transactions and settlements.
• Monitor payment exceptions, holds, chargebacks, and refunds.
• Maintain transaction-level review processes to prevent revenue leakage.
• Serve as liaison for processing, settlements, tax compliance, and reporting.
• Perform reconciliations between payment platforms, banking, and GL.
• Support month-end close activities and journals.
• Develop and improve control processes with automation opportunities.
• Ensure accurate sales tax collection, remittance, and reporting.
