Job summary

Cart.com is seeking a highly detail-oriented MoR Accounting professional to own end-to-end MoR operations, ensuring accurate payment processing, settlements, and tax compliance across brands. The role demands strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on reconciliations in a fast-paced ecommerce environment.

The ideal candidate will manage reconciliations, month-end close support, and drive process improvements, with exposure to payment platforms and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Three to seven years of experience in payments operations, merchant services, accounting, or related field within e-commerce, SaaS, digital goods, marketplace, or technology-enabled services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, merchant accounts, and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing large datasets.
• Working knowledge of SQL and reporting or analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting and operational oversight of Merchant of Record activities across supported brands.
• Review, validate, and approve high-value transactions and settlements in accordance with established approval thresholds and internal controls.
• Monitor and resolve urgent payment exceptions, including settlement failures, payment holds, chargebacks, and significant refunds.
• Maintain rigorous transaction-level review processes to minimize errors, prevent revenue leakage, and ensure financial accuracy.
• Serve as the primary liaison for payment processing, settlements, reconciliations, tax compliance, and financial reporting related to MoR operations.
