Job summary

Mercy South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Monitoring Technician to provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and alert RNs and clinicians to rhythm changes. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and quick decision-making in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Education requires a high school diploma or GED (or current Mercy coworker status). Basic computer skills are expected, and CRAT certification is preferred. The position is part-time, days, 24 hours per week.

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Part Time Days

24 hours/week

7:00a-7:30p

Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.

Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.

Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.
