Job summary

Mercy is seeking a part-time Monitoring Technician to provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and to notify RNs and clinicians of any rhythm changes in real time. You will review patient information to determine normal patterns and variances, working as part of a collaborative team in a Mercy facility.

Responsibilities include maintaining accuracy in monitoring, using basic computer skills, and communicating clearly under pressure. CRAT certification is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Pass monitor tech course with at least 85% on competency exam.
• Basic computer skills; strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and quick decision-making under pressure.
• CRAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surveil patient cardiac monitors continuously.
• Notify RNs/clinicians immediately of rhythm changes.
• Review patient data to identify normal patterns and variances.

Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.

Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.

Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.

Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.
