Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to provide continuous surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and alert RNs or clinicians to any rhythm changes. You will review patient data to identify normal and variational patterns and collaborate with a care team, ensuring actions align with Mercy's mission and standards.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, possess basic computer skills, and can multitask with excellent communication while making quick decisions under pressure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Monitor tech course completion or 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask essential.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Experience preferred but not mandatory.
• CRAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• On-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and immediate notification of changes to RNs/clinicians.
• Review patient information to determine normal rhythm, current pattern, and variances.
• Work cooperatively as part of a healthcare team.

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
• Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
• Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
• Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.
