Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and alert RNs and clinicians to rhythm changes. You will review patient data to identify normal and current patterns, then communicate variances clearly.

The role requires teamwork and adherence to Mercy standards. Although basic computer skills are essential, the job emphasizes attention to detail, quick decision-making under pressure, and effective communication with care teams.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
• Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient cardiac monitors and provide RNs/clinicians with immediate notification of rhythm changes.
• Review patient information to determine normal rhythm, current pattern and variances.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team and adhere to Mercy mission and standards.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.

Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.

Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Certifications: CRAT certification preferred.
